How We Answer Questions
Every answer on Three Rivers Home Water is built from published reports, rules, codes and manuals, with each local number dated and linked to its source.

Where the answers come from
Answers rest on documents anyone can read. For Fort Wayne's water and sewers, that means City Utilities' annual water quality reports and its written water and wastewater rules. For wider questions, pages draw on publications from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Indiana Department of Health, the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, FEMA, NOAA, the U.S. Geological Survey and Purdue Extension.
Rules come from the Indiana Code and the state's residential code. Product questions use makers' manuals and the certification listings published by certifiers, such as NSF and IAPMO, for the exact model named. Each source is linked where it is used, so you can open the original next to the answer.
How local numbers are handled
Every local figure carries the report it came from and the year of the data, for example "City Utilities' 2026 water quality report (2025 data)". Units follow the report: reports print parts per million (ppm, the same as mg/L) and parts per billion (ppb, the same as µg/L), and pages say so.
Each page also shows the date it was last updated. A figure is only as current as the report behind it, so check the date against the utility's newest report, as in how do I read the Fort Wayne water quality report?
What is left out
Three Rivers Home Water does no lab testing of water and no product testing. It doesn't collect contractor quotes or publish prices for plumbing work. Forum posts and anecdotes are not used as evidence. If a figure couldn't be found in a primary source, the page leaves it out and says so in its "How this answer was put together" note.
Fixing mistakes
When a figure is wrong or a rule changes, the page is corrected and its updated date changes with it. There is no email address or contact form. Instead, every number links to the document it came from, so you can check any figure yourself against that source. Who owns the site is explained on the ownership and store links page, and the home page lists every question.
