Who owns this site

Three Rivers Home Water has the same owners as SoftPro Water Systems and Quality Water Treatment, two stores that sell water softeners, filters and well treatment equipment. You should know that before you read any page that mentions a product, so it is stated here, on the about page, and beside every store link.

Product links to the stores appear on eight question pages, and only on those; the about page and this page also link the two stores' home pages. Each link has a note beside it naming the store and saying it has the same owners as this site. The eight pages are:

Every other page, including everything about tap water reports, sewers, basements, winter pipes and plumbing rules, has no store links. A store is linked only on pages where it actually sells the product being discussed.

How store claims are treated

When a page describes a product, the description is reported as the store's own claim ("the store lists it as..."), not as a finding of this site. Removal claims are limited to what a certifier lists for that exact model. On the lead page, a filter is linked only if it is certified to NSF/ANSI 53 or NSF/ANSI 58 for lead reduction, and the certificate is named. Prices are the store's listed price on the date the page gives.

Product pages also treat equipment as optional. They tell you to test or read the report first, and to buy only for a problem the water actually has.

What we never do

No other company pays to be mentioned on this site. There are no paid placements, no sponsored links, and no payments from other sellers for clicks or sales. Plumbers and contractors are never listed, ranked or reviewed. How answers are researched is explained on how we answer questions.
